Terms of service

Effective date: July 26, 2026

1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using any Snapbug product or service ("Services"), including the Snapbug SDK, the inspector and its local daemon, the Chrome extension, RecorderApp, and the website at snapbug.ai, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree to these Terms, do not use our Services.

2. Eligibility

You must be at least 13 years old to use our Services. If you are using the Services on behalf of an organization, you represent that you have authority to bind that organization to these Terms.

3. Description of Services

Snapbug provides a suite of debugging and bug-reporting tools:

  • Snapbug SDK: A library integrated into mobile, web, and multiplatform applications to capture debugging data (network requests, analytics, crashes, screenshots) and transmit it to the inspector over a local connection, or through our relay in a remote session you start.
  • Snapbug Inspector and Local Daemon: A daemon that runs on your own machine together with an inspector interface — in your browser, in the Chrome extension, or in a desktop window — which receives, displays, and analyses debugging data from connected devices.
  • Snapbug Chrome Extension: A browser extension for capturing, annotating, and reporting web page issues.
  • RecorderApp: A mobile application for capturing screenshots and screen recordings for bug reports.

4. Beta, Plans, and Pricing

Snapbug is in open beta. Every feature is currently available at no charge and no payment card is required.

  • Free allowance: Without a licence key you may submit up to 100 bug reports per machine; crash reports draw on the same allowance. Once it is used up, submitting further reports requires a licence.
  • Paid plans: Paid plans have not launched yet. When they do, their price and contents will be published on our pricing page before any charge is made, and moving to one will be your choice.
  • Billing: When paid plans launch, payments will be handled by DodoPayments, which acts as merchant of record and seller for those transactions; its terms govern the payment itself, including taxes and refunds. Subscriptions can be cancelled at any time and access continues until the end of the period already paid for.

Because this is a beta, features may change or be withdrawn, and we may impose limits to keep the service available. Do not rely on Snapbug as the only copy of anything you need to keep.

5. User Responsibilities

You agree to:

  • Use the Services in compliance with all applicable laws and regulations.
  • Not reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble any proprietary Snapbug software (the inspector and its daemon, RecorderApp, the Chrome extension).
  • Not use the Services to collect, store, or transmit data in violation of third-party privacy rights.
  • Maintain the security of your account credentials, licence keys, and API keys.
  • Not redistribute, sublicense, or resell the Services without written permission.

6. Intellectual Property

Snapbug SDK: The Snapbug SDK is licensed under the Apache License 2.0. You may use, modify, and distribute the SDK in accordance with the terms of that license.

Inspector, Daemon, RecorderApp, Chrome Extension, and Website: These are proprietary software owned by Snapbug. All rights not expressly granted are reserved. You are granted a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use these products under these Terms and the plan you are on.

7. Your Data

You retain all rights to the data you capture and process using our Services. Snapbug does not claim ownership of your debugging data, screenshots, recordings, or any other content you create. Our tools are local-first: your data stays on your machines and we do not access it. The one exception is a remote session you start yourself, where the report passes through our relay in transit without being stored — the Privacy Policy describes this in detail.

8. Third-Party AI Services

Certain features use third-party AI providers (for example OpenAI, Anthropic, or OpenRouter) or a command-line agent installed on your machine. When you configure your own API key and enable these features, data is sent directly from your machine to the provider. Your use of those providers is subject to their respective terms of service and privacy policies. Snapbug is not responsible for how third-party providers handle your data.

9. Limitation of Liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, SNAPBUG AND ITS OFFICERS, DIRECTORS, EMPLOYEES, AND AGENTS SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO LOSS OF PROFITS, DATA, USE, OR GOODWILL, ARISING OUT OF OR RELATED TO YOUR USE OF THE SERVICES.

OUR TOTAL LIABILITY FOR ANY CLAIMS UNDER THESE TERMS SHALL NOT EXCEED THE AMOUNT YOU PAID US IN THE TWELVE (12) MONTHS PRECEDING THE CLAIM.

10. Disclaimer of Warranties

THE SERVICES ARE PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, WHETHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT THE SERVICES WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, ERROR-FREE, OR COMPLETELY SECURE.

11. Termination

You may stop using our Services at any time. We may suspend or terminate your access if you violate these Terms or if we discontinue the Services. Upon termination, your right to use the proprietary components of the Services ceases. The SDK, being open-source under Apache 2.0, may continue to be used according to that license.

12. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of Georgia (the country, not the U.S. state), without regard to its conflict of law provisions. Any dispute arising from these Terms shall be resolved in the courts of Tbilisi, Georgia. If you use the Services as a consumer, nothing here deprives you of the protection of mandatory provisions of the law of your country of residence.

13. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. When we make material changes, we will notify you by updating the effective date and, for significant changes, by posting a notice on our website. Your continued use of the Services after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
