Terms of Service

Effective date: April 17, 2025

1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using any Snapbug product or service (“Services”), including the Snapbug SDK, Desktop application, Chrome extension, RecorderApp, and the website at snapbug.ai, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service (“Terms”). If you do not agree to these Terms, do not use our Services.

2. Eligibility

You must be at least 13 years old to use our Services. If you are using the Services on behalf of an organization, you represent that you have authority to bind that organization to these Terms.

3. Description of Services

Snapbug provides a suite of debugging and bug-reporting tools:

  • Snapbug SDK: A library integrated into mobile and multiplatform applications to capture debugging data (network requests, analytics, crashes, screenshots) and transmit it to the Desktop application over a local connection.
  • Snapbug Desktop Application: A Compose Desktop application that receives, displays, and analyzes debugging data from connected devices and extensions.
  • Snapbug Chrome Extension: A browser extension for capturing, annotating, and reporting web page issues.
  • RecorderApp: A mobile application for capturing screenshots and screen recordings for bug reports.

4. Plans and Pricing

Snapbug offers the following tiers:

  • Free: Includes up to 3 steps-to-reproduce (STR) per month, basic SDK inspection features, and access to the Desktop application.
  • Pro ($29/month): Unlimited STR, QA Notes, AI-assisted analysis, and priority support.
  • Pro+ ($99/month): Everything in Pro, plus AI-powered bug fix suggestions, advanced root cause analysis, and team collaboration features.

Paid plans are billed monthly. You may cancel at any time; your access continues until the end of the current billing period. We reserve the right to change pricing with 30 days’ notice.

5. User Responsibilities

You agree to:

  • Use the Services in compliance with all applicable laws and regulations.
  • Not reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble any proprietary Snapbug software (Desktop application, RecorderApp, Chrome extension).
  • Not use the Services to collect, store, or transmit data in violation of third-party privacy rights.
  • Maintain the security of your account credentials and API keys.
  • Not redistribute, sublicense, or resell the Services without written permission.

6. Intellectual Property

Snapbug SDK: The Snapbug SDK is licensed under the Apache License 2.0. You may use, modify, and distribute the SDK in accordance with the terms of that license.

Desktop Application, RecorderApp, Chrome Extension, and Website: These are proprietary software owned by Snapbug. All rights not expressly granted are reserved. You are granted a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use these products according to the plan you have subscribed to.

7. Your Data

You retain all rights to the data you capture and process using our Services. Snapbug does not claim ownership of your debugging data, screenshots, recordings, or any other content you create. Because our tools are local-first, your data remains on your machines and we do not access it.

8. Third-Party AI Services

Certain features use third-party AI providers (e.g., OpenAI, Anthropic, Google). When you configure your own API key and enable these features, data is sent directly from your machine to the provider. Your use of those providers is subject to their respective terms of service and privacy policies. Snapbug is not responsible for how third-party providers handle your data.

9. Limitation of Liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, SNAPBUG AND ITS OFFICERS, DIRECTORS, EMPLOYEES, AND AGENTS SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO LOSS OF PROFITS, DATA, USE, OR GOODWILL, ARISING OUT OF OR RELATED TO YOUR USE OF THE SERVICES.

OUR TOTAL LIABILITY FOR ANY CLAIMS UNDER THESE TERMS SHALL NOT EXCEED THE AMOUNT YOU PAID US IN THE TWELVE (12) MONTHS PRECEDING THE CLAIM.

10. Disclaimer of Warranties

THE SERVICES ARE PROVIDED “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE” WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, WHETHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT THE SERVICES WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, ERROR-FREE, OR COMPLETELY SECURE.

11. Termination

You may stop using our Services at any time. We may suspend or terminate your access if you violate these Terms or if we discontinue the Services. Upon termination, your right to use the proprietary components of the Services ceases. The SDK, being open-source under Apache 2.0, may continue to be used according to that license.

12. Governing Law

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of Delaware, United States, without regard to its conflict of law provisions. Any disputes arising from these Terms shall be resolved in the courts of Delaware.

13. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. When we make material changes, we will notify you by updating the effective date and, for significant changes, by posting a notice on our website. Your continued use of the Services after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
